Remembering Bob Birch - "GoodBye My Friends"
MEMORIAL WEBCAST SERVICE for ELTON JOHN BASSIST & DETROITER BOB BIRCH DETROIT MICHIGAN: Aug 29, 2012 - UDetroit.com will generate a worldwide memorial service webcast on Sunday September 9th, 2012 @ 5pm for Elton John bassist, Bob Birch, who passed away on Aug 15, 2012. Birch, who found his 'dream job', played in over 1400 concerts with Elton John over a 20 year career, along with one offs from rock stalwarts like Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Billy Joel, Sting, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, and a host of other A-Listers. Friends and acquaintances will be in studio at UDetroit Media Café to weave personal stories about the legendary bassist as well as some famous musicians and industry people who will call in from all parts of the world telling their stories about the man known as Bobby Birch. A memorial spokesman said, "We're doing this because the headline surely doesn't match the person we all knew and loved. True perspective on a life should come from those whose paths intersected in significant ways. That is what we intend to do with this memorial webcast right from the heart of the city that Bob Birch hailed from.... and truly loved". As Bobby would say,"GO LIONS"! The webcast will take place on Sunday, Sept 9th, 2012 at 5:00PM EST from the UDetroit Media Café located in Detroit's Harmonie Park District. The Tribute will be webcast at www.udetroit.tv and hosted by legendary radio personality Bob Bauer. The Live call in number for the webcast is 313 285 2020.
