By now, everyone knows that our little gopher friend "Punxsutawney Phil" did NOT see his shadow.

So, we should have an 'early' Spring and this past snow fall will give our lawns the good spring-up they need.  But, this also means more crabgrass & weeds.   Remember:  for the best prevention of crabgrass, that first application of pre-emergent needs to be applied as early as possible.

Also, many of you have never had your lawn 'de-thatched'.  Thatch is that build-up of dead grass.  Excessive thatch can lead to disease, inscet invasion & prevents our lawns from getting enough water & nutrients due to 'run-off'.  De-thatching is an inexpensive way to maintain a healthy, happy, beautiful lawn.

As the owner of JDS Landcare, I will be happy to answer any of your landcare questions.  And as always, we do offer FREE Lawn Analysis & Consultation for the Macomb, Northern Wayne & Eastern Oakland Counties (as soon as the snow melts).

Thank you for stopping by & stay tuned for more hints & tips.  Joel
